Our Story
Wrestling for Life is a program within the Minnesota Wrestling Hall of Fame created to bring public awareness to the double and triple suicide rates amongst our first responders and dedicated to the reduction of the suicide rates of
our law enforcement officers, fire fighter, EMS and corrections officers. These public servants put their lives on the line every day for us. We need to do something to help stop this escalating suicide epidemic!
This mission is personal for the founder and director of the MWHOF. Her son, Maury, committed suicide two years ago. He was a firefighter. We have created a Life Coin that is striking in its appearance with a phone number to call
when help is needed. This heavyweight coins should be in every pocket of every police officer, fire fighter, EMS, and corrections officer as a reminder that help is always nearby.
The first step is to get Life Coin in their pockets! Proceeds from donations are used to give Life Coins to individuals and departments that cannot afford to purchase. We also assist in training seminars. Wrestling 4 Life has given Life Coins, used in Peer Recovery and Support Groups, in cases of devastation or trauma, and in when the department experiences a suicide.organization. They also are a 501c3 dedicated to suicide prevention and crisis control for our public servants across the country and Canada.
